RDAP / Modern WHOIS API
Domain and IP registration lookups powered by RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol), the IETF successor to WHOIS.
Queries are routed through the IANA RDAP bootstrap redirector (rdap.org) to the authoritative registry or Regional Internet Registry (RIR) RDAP server, then flattened into clean, stable JSON. No scraping, no rate-limited legacy WHOIS port 43, no brittle text parsing.

Features:
- Domain lookup: status flags, nameservers, registrar (with IANA ID), registration/expiration/last-changed dates, and full DNSSEC details
- IP lookup: network handle, name, type, country, CIDR, address range, and abuse contact for IPv4, IPv6, or CIDR
- Authoritative data routed straight from the source registry or RIR
- Graceful handling of edge cases: unregistered domains return
available: true, TLDs without RDAP are flagged, upstream timeouts and rate limits map to sane status codes
Note: due to GDPR, most gTLD registrant contact details are redacted at the source. Status, nameservers, registrar, and dates remain reliable.
